Spatially Aware is an analysis consultancy working across the built environment: spatial analysis, planning and housing evidence, and economic assessment. The practice was founded by Ahmad Merii after five years building the analysis behind decisions for councils and the teams around them.

01 · THE FOUNDER
From planning to analytics.
Ahmad started in urban planning, studying Urban Studies and Planning at Sheffield and working on planning applications and Development Consent Orders during an internship at Arup. An MSc in Smart Cities and Urban Analytics at UCL CASA moved the work firmly onto the data side.
Since then he has consulted for public sector teams, building the spatial and economic analysis behind housing pipelines, site assessments, and growth plans for councils across England. Spatially Aware carries that work forward as a dedicated practice.
